The Best Songs of 2020 (So Far)

It’s been over a decade since I have last written a proper blog post, but I figured that since I have moved my website to WordPress, I might as well make use its blogging functionality. This does not mean that I am planning on returning to the blogging world, however. I plan on using the “blog” portion of this website to post reviews, research papers and occasional life updates.

Truth be told, I have been wanting to compile a list of my favourite songs from certain time periods for the longest time, but I found that my social media accounts did not provide me with the flexibly that I needed to make it happen. And while I have curated a number of playlists on Spotify, I prefer to create playlists that cover the span of an entire year, rather than just focusing on my absolute favourites. I believe that “best of” lists are a great way to take a snapshot of the things that defined your year. And now that we are halfway through 2020, a new decade, I think that this is the perfect time for me to start! So without further ado, here is a list of my favourite songs (aka the best songs) from the first half of 2020!

Just a quick note: I was unable to decide on the order that the songs should appear in, so they are listed by their release date (hopefully I’ll have better luck when I compile the final list later this year).
